Ingredients

  • 1–2 tsp fennel (saunf) seeds
  • 1–2 cups water 250–500 ml
  • Optional: a thin slice of fresh ginger or a squeeze of lemon for the boiled version

Method

  1. Add 1–2 teaspoons of fennel seeds to 1 cup of water, cover, and leave overnight (about 8 hours).
  2. In the morning, strain and drink on an empty stomach.
  3. For the quick version: boil 1 teaspoon of seeds in 2 cups of water, simmer 5–7 minutes, strain, and sip warm.

Notes

Tip: Lightly crush the fennel seeds with the back of a spoon before soaking or boiling — it releases more of the aromatic oils.
No-cook option: The overnight soak needs no heat at all. Just cover the seeds and water at room temperature, strain in the morning, and drink within a few hours.
